Learning #1 God designed us to live in community.
Genesis 2:18 (NLT) - Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NLT) – Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
Proverbs 15:22 (NIV) - Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.
Learning #2: Jesus longs for us to be in community.
John 17:20-21 (NIV) - My Prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one…
Acts 2:42-47 (NIV) - They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Learning #3: Community helps us to become all that God designed us to be .
